Author Biography
Henry Christopher Bailey was born in London in 1878. He went to Oxford University, later becoming a journalist before trying his hand at writing detective fiction in 1920. He married Lydia and they had two daughters, Betty and Mary. He retired in 1950, moving to North Wales. He died in 1961.
Bailey mostly wrote short stories about Mr Fortune, the surgeon turned amateur detective. Reggie Fortune helps the police solve cases they are struggling with and earns himself a reputation as an uncanny detective.
